Vintage 1978 Gibson ES 335
Sunburst with OHC - Great Condition

This Gibson ES 335 is in great condition both aesthetically and functionally.
The guitar sports the classic sunburst finish. There are a barely any
markings on the body of the guitar, and the fret wear is minimal. As shown in the
pictures, there is a tiny indent near the left horn, and there are several small
areas along the outer edge of the face where the finish has set into the wood grain.
The back of the guitar is near pristine. The finish on the lower part of the neck has
some slight wear, and there is also some minimal wear on the side of the right horn
The electronics are in good condition, and the guitar has that classic ES 335 tone.
Included is the original Gibson logo hardshell case, which is in good condition with some wear.

She was born just a few weeks ago, in 2012, and has never been owned. In fact, with the exception of my testing this out before writing this ad, the guitar is completely unplayed!  I just picked this up from the original retailer, who only had the guitar for a few days before sending it to me. There are no nicks or dings on this sweet axe! The neck is straight, with no cracks or repairs... the frets are perfect, with their entire life ahead of them... and the sound is sweet! Also included is the original Gibson  Custom Shop hard shell case, and even includes the case candy, case key and the Certificate of Authenticity, as shown in the last picture! Up for sale is an extremely hard to get a hold of Calton Case.  If you've ever tried to get one before you know what I mean.  Best guitar case in the world hands down.  Worst company in the world to deal with hands down.  This one took a year and a half to get after paying in full and being told that it was shipping "this week".

There's nothing like playing a nice, vintage Gibson ES-335. Just ask Larry Carlton ... or Alex Lifeson ... or Rich Robinson ... or any of the other thousands of legendary guitarists that have made the ES-335 one of their main guitars. There's just something very special about this amazing thinline hollowbody creation from Gibson that has caught the attention and imagination of the last five or six generations - and will continue to do so for quite a few more generations as well.

This beautiful 1965 model embodies everything that makes a vintage Gibson ES-335 a special instrument. Start with its classic arched Maple top with Maple back and sides, coupled with a solid Mahogany neck topped with a 22-fret rosewood fingerboard with pearl block inlays. This one still has the original frets, and there's plenty of life left in them. The classic Cherry finish vividly reminds you of Eric Clapton's ES-335, and the two original Gibson humbuckers deliver that classic ES-335 tone that can be as sweet and mellow as a cool jazz melody, or as hard and thumping as a rockin' chord progression from any of today's modern Buzz tunes! There's a reason these guitars are so sought after from everyone from the most classic jazz players to today's modern day rockers, and this ES-335 TDC has all the qualities they look for ... and then some!

This beauty is accompanied by a recent Letter of Appraisal from George Gruhn, who valued the instrument at $8,000 in today's market. This ES-335 TDC is all original, although the bridge is a newer model. However, the original bridge is included in the case. The pickups are both original Gibson Patent No. pickups, We also had the guitar checked out by noted Nashville luthier Joe Glaser, who confirmed the guitar's authenticity and originality. In a nutshell, this is as good as it gets!

This 1965 Gibson ES-335 TDC has been lovingly played, yet still has many years left to completely satisfy any player's demand for excellent tone and playability. As you can see from the pictures below, the guitar has seen some good playing time, and the reason for that is because this is one very sweet playing guitar! Not only is it smooth playing with superb action, but the original Gibson pickups deliver the classic humbucker blast you'd expect from a Gibson like this.

As we mentioned before, the entire guitar was checked out and set up by none other than Joe Glaser of Glaser Instruments here in
Nashville, Tennessee. If you don’t know who Joe is, Google his name and you’ll see
that not only is he the finest luthier in Nashville, but probably one of the
best luthiers in the entire world. Joe is the luthier of choice for guitar legends
such as Vince Gill, Keith Urban, Brad Paisley, Eric Clapton, and many, many

There are no breaks, cracks or repairs of any kind anywhere on this guitar. The neck is perfectly straight, and all the electronics work perfectly. It also stays in tune perfectly. In a nutshell, THERE'S ABSOLUTELY NOTHING WRONG WITH THIS BEAUTIFUL ES-335, other than the normal wear and "vintage beauty marks" (we love that phrase!) you'd expect from a great playing Gibson from 1965. Look at the pictures below and judge for yourself ... the original Cherry finish still looks amazing, and the neck is incredibly smooth! You will not be disappointed in this guitar one bit ... it truly sounds as good as it looks, and that's saying a lot!

A gold 335? You’re likely never to have seen one and neither had we. Gibson made this for a Yamano Japan custom order in 2001.
It's back in the states now and looks like it was never used! Near mint condition. Gold all over with original cream appointments that
harken back to the ES-295s of the 50s. Just a gorgeous, rare guitar
that plays and sounds every bit as good as it looks. Fretboard is dark and dense and exotic looking, action is super low with perfect playability, and the frets are in like-new condition. Lightweight at just 7.9 lbs. No checking and no flaws other than a tiny area of factory paint shrinkage in the upper cutaway binding and an eyelash-sized check under the finish (both pictured and barely visible, but we are thorough here!) The low E-string saddle was replaced with a brass one for more even tone but the original nickel one is included. Original case candy is included along with the original hardshell tan Gibson case. Pictures tell the story...great guitar, super clean, and as rare as it can possibly get!

Everything will be
packed extremely well in a double-walled guitar box. Shipping
will be $50 Fedex to the lower 48 states (including full insurance), and internationally I
ship USPS Express (or USPS Priority International depending on country restrictions) for $175. Canada, Alaska and Hawaii will be a $85
flat rate. Local pickup is great but all California buyers are subject to state sales tax.

For your consideration is this vintage 1981 Gibson Professional 335-S Deluxe electric guitar. This particular example, serial number 81051650, is in very excellent all original condition. Designed as a solid-body companion to its semi-hollowbody ES-335 counterpart, the 335-S Deluxe was the most decorated version of the early-80's 335-S models. This beautiful 335-S also features early Tim Shaw half-white PAF pickups and an incredibly rich Cherry Red finish. Easily considered one of the coolest models to be produced during the Norlin era, the model was engineered to be highly versatile, and is consequently a fantastic player's instrument. The 335-S Deluxe features: a sculptured mahogany solidbody construction, the original Cherry finish, 3-piece mahogany neck, bound Ebony fingerboard, polished brass nut, (2) high output Tim Shaw humbucking pickups, coil tap switch, Tune-O-Matic bridge, non-original traditional style stop tailpiece (instead of the cumbersome TP-6), and chrome-plated deluxe tuning machines.

As mentioned above, this guitar is really a fantastic player's instrument. Above all else, it was created to be versatile, functional, and practical. This intuitive design results in a very dynamic tonal range: from super rich and heavy chunkiness to clean and delicate crispiness, the factory coil-tap lets the player pick from a very wide spectrum of sounds.

The neck is perfectly straight and the slim-taper profile develops from thin to medium depth. The factory medium-sized frets still retain plenty of fret-life. The Tim Shaw PAF pickups both sound incredible, and with respect to a tenth of an Ohm, are identically matched.

Aside from various superficial dings on the front of the guitar, and some expected belt buckle wear/rash on the back of the body, this guitar is in very fine cosmetic condition. Most would rate this guitar a strong 8.5/10.

ITEM DESCRIPTION

For sale is this Gibson ES-335 from 1966.  It is a great
playing guitar.  It sounds awesome.  The guitar is used, and shows
normal wear and tear, bumps, bruises, finish checking, etc... but there is no
structural damage and overall, in my opinion, this guitar is really quite clean
for its age.  It is a 1966 which means the nut width is 1 and 9/16ths
inches.  The guitar is all original with the possible exception of the
bigsby which is a nice 60's unit.   It comes with the original case.

hour approval period. If you are not fully satisfied with your item just let us
know within 48 hours and you can return it for a full refund of the purchase
price.     We are a small
family owned business, and we REALLY want you to be happy with your purchase,
and for this reason we offer the 48 hour approval period.  We do our best
to describe all items as accurately as we can, but sometimes we do make mistakes. 
If we make a mistake, please just call us and we will find a resolution.

(1)  We will not falsify customs documents.  Doing so constitutes

GIBSON CUSTOM SHOP ES-336F FIGURED DENIM FROST BLUE This is a great opportunity to own one of the most beautiful guitars that you will ever see come out of the Gibson Custom Shop. This very special ES-336F comes finished in a Denim Blue on the top to really match the unbelievable figure of the maple used. I can't overstate the depth of this finish! It rolls and changes color before your eyes due to the deep flame in the wood and the gorgeous,unique blue finish. I tried to capture that with the two contrasting pictures of the top. The back of the guitar, neck, and headstock are finished in a super cool Frost Blue that is a perfect compliment to the front. It has a retro Baby Blue look that also matches the cream binding used to completely finish the look. The ES-336 is a increasingly popular model only available from the Custom Shop and they are usually found in a sunburst finish. This is the only one that I have EVER seen in this color. Besides the awesome look of this particular guitar it is also a tonal, resonant beast. The back and sides are fully carved out of one piece of Solid Mahogany and the top is two fully carved pieces of choice book matched Figured Maple giving it an unmatched resonance and tone. This guitar is alive in your hands and will only improve over time. It's also super comfortable to play with it's slightly smaller body that is only 13 wide and 16 inches long, it is a great alternative to the bigger ES-335 or for someone looking for a smaller than the norm, completely unique semi-hollow. Like the 335's it is equipped with '57 Classic humbuckers and a slim taper 60's style neck that makes it fast and a pleasure to play. This guitar is in like new condition. Included are the Deluxe Gibson Custom Shop hard case with red plush interior, the Certificate of Authenticity booklet and all case candy. I am a professional Luthier and private collector with over 15 years experience repairing and restoring modern and vintage instruments. I personally go over every guitar that I sell before they are detuned to relieve tension and then carefully packed and shipped. Since I am not a Gibson dealer the guitar does not include a factory warranty even if the paperwork is still in the case. Specs are listed below but feel free to contact me with any questions.
