This Gibson ES-335 is the first semi hollow guitar body ever produced becoming wildly popular with artists such as: B.B. King, George Harrison, and Eric Clapton. (He’s not just a Fender man) The wood block that runs through the center of the body allows it to produce a wildly warm tone that suits it across a range of playing styles such as rock, jazz, and blues. This defining achievement has given it the status as the best all around guitar ever built. Part of its versatility is due to its fatter and more comfortable neck; unlike other Gibson models, this guitar receives great praise for the ease with which to solo with it. The action on this piece is pretty flawless, if you remember those old infomercials for the rotisserie which coined the term, “set it and forget it,” this guitar is pretty similar. Once you’ve set the action up how you like it will continue to play with a beautifully expressive tone that will keep you in constant appreciation of stumbling upon such a rare find. In addition, you just can’t beat the Cherry Red finish which makes looking at this guitar almost as satisfying as playing it.
