This one's got a really nice neck. Factory original Matsumoko Hollow body lawsuit limited run guitar. A really nice example from the time some very high quality guitars came out of that factory. ..and got them into alittle trouble for copying Gibsons a little too well. This is the early short lived version Univox Gibson 335 copy. The earliest, most short lived run that is, the closest they ever came to the gibson es-335 in body shape contour and neck characteristics. A rare early example of how good they really were. Arrow straight high quality signature 3-ply Matsumoko skunk stripe neck designed for strength tone and durability..This one was made right. Maybe too right. It was these guitars that got them into trouble. Made in 1960's (pre lawsuit era) Notice how after that, on later models, the lower bout gets much wider while the horns got much thinner as time goes on. and the odd size pickups (try finding a replacement without cutting a hole in the body; (this one's from before they started routing them with those odd size pickups) they deliberately made them incompatible in shape and contour after that.) and reshaped headstocks in some variations on exsisting stock, distorting the original shapes more and more as time went on. Also, they discontinued the 3-colored sunburst early on and went to a two-color burst on later models. In short, they steered away from copying so closely after they got into trouble for copying too closely, carefully scrutinizing and modifying their designs. ..and then alittle later the factory burned down to the ground in a freak earthquake and production numbers went, but that's a whole nother story.(Gibson was probably behind it although conspiracy theorists are as yet unable to fully explain how they caused the earthquake - the sheer physics of it boggles the mind.) The horns on this early run model one are beautifully sculpted; more like Mickey Mouse ears; More like the standard Gibson es-335, Fat. Standard Gibson size pickups too. Headstock: Dead-on Gibson. Nice tight f holes. Unlike the wide and squatty later models of the 1970's. Compare. They are not all the same. Not nearly. This rare model does not come up often. And in great shape. People tend to hold onto them; A great collectors grade piece like this will go up in value. Electronics, pots and switches work perfectly with no static, hum or cutting out. Pickups sound great! An early model slim line guitar with fat mickey mouse ear horn shoulders.( have to be careful; might get sued by Mickey Mouse) Straight skunk stripe neck and a Zero fret adjustable truss .This neck is better than the real thing in my opinion. Rare early version body with standard size humbucker pickups. 3 color sunburst. Vibrant! The neck is arrow straight, closer in real, in feel, to a Mosrite neck, with a Zero fret.(brass?) No buzzing, nice action, very playable all the way up.Very clean straight guitar.Better than butter. No solder-ins or replacement parts. Unmolested factory original parts, wiring and solder joints. Never been dropped or scraped, wet, hit, or apart. No warping or missing unoriginal pieces or screws. Neck is straight. Frets are great. 3 color candy sunburst is original and brilliant front sides and back. Factory original Rosewood base Roller bridge and Bigsby style Vibrato model guitar complete with original trem spring and arm. Rare Vintage fine 40 yrs + Collectors Grade guitar from the 60's in factory original unmodified A1 shape. Hasn't been taken apart or touched up; nothing to touch up or take apart on a dead mint guitar. There's some great guitars out there. This is one of them. A true survivor. US $20. shipping all sales final paypal only. (Clay dog foot stool in photos not included.)
